Parish Organizations and Committees A committee that consists of elected and appointed representatives of the parish and organizations who join in providing a climate, which fosters our goal of imitating the life and teaching of Jesus. Meetings are every other month. Knights of Columbus - Council #7018 The Knights of Columbus provide great leadership
in the parish including organizing family oriented outings, supporting
the mentally and physically handicapped with an annual Tootsie Roll
Drive, Free Throw Hoop Contest, pancake breakfasts and sponsoring many
varied tasks that need to be completed in a parish. Administration Establishes budgets or all aspects of parish life; reviews revenues and expenses; and gives advice and recommendations on financial responsibility. Adults
and teens (grades10 and above) Adults and teens. Some musical training is required. Religious Education Commission Responsible for educational programs of the parish that strengthen parishioner understanding of the teachings of the Catholic Church. Meetings are every other month. Also, helps all parishioners understand that the entire Parish body has the responsibility for promoting the teaching mission of the Church. The Commission has the responsibility of developing, promoting, and evaluating programs in cooperation with the Parish staff and the Archdiocese of Detroit. Conduct classes for child formation using age appropriate material and lesson plans provided. Catechist Assistant Assists catechist in class time activities. Assists in various needs of the program as office help, hall monitor, or ad-hoc activities. Good News Gang (Children's Liturgy of the Word) Adults proclaim the Word to children during Mass in readings that are at a child's level of understanding. Held during the 9:00 a.m. Mass each Sunday. Open to children grades 1 thru 5. You may enroll your children in Religious Education/Christian Formation classes in a traditional classroom setting at St. Clement Parish. Preschool/Kdg. during the 9:00 a.m. Mass. Grades 1-8, choice of Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday 4:30 - 5:45 p.m. or 6:30 - 7:45 p.m. Vacation
Bible School Our goal here at St. Clement for the youth groups is to provide an opportunity for our young people to stay excited about their faith, to realize they are a very important part of GOD'S FAMILY and to see their God-given gifts. High School Work with 9th - 12th graders in their faith journey to adulthood, assisting with service projects, social activities and acting as mentors for parish teenagers. Contact the Religious Education Office. Middle School Work with middle school age children in their faith journey to young adult, assisting with service projects, and social activities. R.C.I.A (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) Assist people in their journey of faith through Sacraments of Initiation into the Catholic Church. If you want to be baptized, confirmed or receive the Eucharist, then this is an invitation for you. This class is also for any Catholic wanting to update their faith. Special updating opportunities for busy adult Catholics, Bible study, speakers and mission. Altar Servers - Open to all children who are in the 5th grade and older. Lectors - Open to anyone that has been confirmed and commissioned. Eucharistic Ministers - Open to anyone that has been confirmed and commissioned. Ushers - Open to any adult in the parish. Funeral Servers - Open to adults who wish to serve at a funeral. Training is available. Call the office - 752-9611. Wedding Rehearsals - Open to all adults who wish to be a part of the weddings at St. Clement Parish. Contact the parish office - 752-9611. Create and promote programs which address human needs such as Birthright, Right to Life, MCREST, food pantry, etc. Meets every other month. Prepare and serve a meal in our social hall. St. Clement Church, in partnership with St. Joseph Mercy of Macomb's Parish Nursing Network, has a Parish Nursing/Health Ministry program. The mission of the ministry is to spread the message of Christ through caring, compassionate service within the scope of professional practice defined by the American Nurse's Association. The ministry is led by registered nurses, Helen Knoblock, Rosemary Kern, Shirley Ternes and Mary Adkins. Membership is comprised of medical and non-medical volunteers. The roles of the ministry membership focus upon the physical, spiritual, emotional and psychological health of the family and parish community. Some of their activities include: active participation at major parish functions as well as monthly blood pressure screening, an annual health fair, flu and pneumonia vaccine clinic, library, care volunteers and home visits to the ill and various education offerings. The Parish Nurse program includes a Grief and Loss support team led by Rosemary Kern. Set-up, serve and clean-up for coffee and donuts on Sundays after the 9 & 11 a.m. Masses. Volunteer groups are scheduled. An effort is made to contact all newly registered parishioners to acquaint them with St. Clement Parish life. Shares Eucharist to those in extended care facilities and homebound sick and aged. Assist grieving families with follow-up support through bereavement programs and support groups. Sponsored by the Parish Nurses. Members evaluate the needs of families for financial assistance, and respond based on need and resources. Agape Center is located on St. Clement grounds. It consists of Catholic Services of Macomb (counseling and adult day care services), North Macomb Vicariate Christian Service Office, St. Clement Food Pantry and the Hispanic Center. Non-profit, tax-exempt organization operated by nineteen churches and organizations in our community. Provides emergency help to people in need. Oversees the Sharing Tree at Christmas time. Provides guidance and instructions to youth in basketball. St. Clement Parish gymnasium is for the primary use of St. Clement parishioners, Religious Education program and sponsored organizations. Use will be allowed for all St. Clement sponsored athletics with the exception of, but not limited to, soccer, softball, baseball and floor hockey. Sponsored activities must be scheduled through the parish office.
